Bringing Fun to Life: The Red Sock Mascot for Simpli TV
Simpli TV’s mascot, the Red Sock, is a quirky and humorous character. The goal was to create a cartoonish, stylized sock modeled and textured for use in a live-action animation sequence. The design required a playful, vibrant approach that aligned with the brand’s fun personality, bringing the character to life in a dynamic and engaging way.

3D Modeling
The 3D character was entirely modeled within 3ds Max, without the use of any sculpting software like ZBrush. This streamlined approach maintained a focus on precision while ensuring the cartoonish and stylized nature of the character aligned with the desired look for the live-action animation sequence.
The entire texturing process was completed using Substance Painter, ensuring detailed and high-quality textures that matched the stylized design of the character.
- Storyboarding: Initiated with a creative session to storyboard the entire sequence, ensuring the concept was clear and impactful.
- Shooting and Animation: Combined digital animation with live-action footage to create a seamless integration of the burger and chili peppers with the actual footage of the mall.
- Post-Production: Engaged in meticulous post-production to ensure visual coherence and impact, with particular attention to color grading and sound design to complement the visuals.
